CIDER-BEER HYBRID BY STEPHEN KING, IN COLLABORATION WITH BUDAPRÉS CIDERY!
One of the world's most famous writer, Stephen King introduced the idea of a cider-beer hybrid, called Graf, in one of his novels. So we basically brewed a beer that has no origin story, except from this.
So Graf, as King described it, is a cider-beer hybrid. Home brewers and craft breweries have been experimenting with this style for years, to find their best recipes and way to brew it, so we did the same.
One of our brewers, Áron Till came up with the idea after meeting the guys from Budaprés Cider. Of course he first brewed the prototype at home, then came to the brewery with a final recipe.
We got the apple in crushed form, and Daniel from Budaprés visited us during the brewing process. The apple was added during brewing, and then the beer was in fermentation tanks for some weeks.
After some time we added some special malts (Simcoe, Amarillo, Callista, Riwaka), which give the beer a hoppy flavor and crisp mouthfeel. The base is a hazy sour IPA, yet the apple makes it perfectly cidery as well.
It's a refreshing, fruity and nicely hopped beer with a beautiful apple taste.
