The distillery A.H. Riise is located on St. Thomas Island, an American Virgin Island in the Caribbean. Before this island became an American territory, it was a Danish colony. Around the 1840s, the pharmacist Albert Heinrich was not only allowed to open a pharmacy but also to produce alcohol.

A.H. Riise Family Reserve Solera 1838 Rum is aged after production in oak barrels personally selected by the Master Distiller using the Solera method.
Before the A.H. Riise Family Reserve Solery was opened to the public in 1838, it was reserved exclusively for the heirs and successors of A.H. Riise.
Tasting notes:

Colour: red gold.
Nose: Spicy, slightly smoky, orange peel.
Taste: A little fruity, sweetish, slightly leathery, cardamom.
Finish: Long-lasting with hints of lime, vanilla and cinnamon.
